The Weight Loss Twins The Story Behind Their Shocking Weight Loss Achievements

Bill Germanakos
Bill's father died of a heart attack when he was only 57-years-old. Then at the age of 40 during a regular check up with his physician, Bill was informed that he was he was not only obese, but also had high cholesterol, blood pressure and several other health factors that would lead to heart disease if left un-treated. It was at that moment Bill knew he had to start taking responsibility for his health.
Not only did Bill want to lose the weight to live a longer happier life, but he wanted to be more desirable for his wife, Stephanie. He’s been married to wife Stephanie for more than 15 years, and they have three beautiful children, ages 8, 11 and 14. The thought of not being there to walk his two daughters down the aisle was motivation enough for Bill to start improving his health.
Bill is now 41 years old and living in Lynbrook, New York. Since being on the Biggest Loser Bill has never been happier. His mantra on show was: “To become half the man, so that he could be twice the man”, and after losing 49% of his body weight I think its safe to say he has accomplished his goal.
One thing that really gave Bill the motivation he needed was having his twin brother there. Bill and Jim have been described as being extremely close, yet extremely competitive, since the day they came into the world together and it was the competitiveness that drove them both towards better health and better lives.

Jim Germanakos
Jim, also known as “Jimmy The Greek” lives in Long Island and works as a Police Officer. He was over weight for many years before he decided to take control and get healthy. Jim and his brother Bill were lucky enough to be picked to be on season 4 of “The Biggest Loser” where they went on to lose the most body weight and win the competition. Bill lost massive 164 pounds which was 49% of his body weight and Jim was the biggest percentage weight loser, losing 51% with an almost unbelievable weight loss of an186 pounds.
Jim’s Father always used to say “The only way to get something done, is to get it started!” Get it started, and you’re on your way! Well… they got it started, and went all the way. Jim and Bills journey stared together on Jillian's Black team but after only 5 weeks Jim was voted off and was forced to go home and train alone. He had lost 54 pounds on the 'Campus' but then with the support of his friends and family lost another 132 pounds. What's inspiring about Jim's weight loss journey is that he did it while functioning as a husband, father and home owner as well as continuing his full-time job as a police officer.
